Migrant Contact at Sea
The Migrant Contact at Sea course outlines the basic requirements and planning required to establish the processes and procedures for possible migrant contact at sea.
With the current climate, the desperation of the migrants and the fact that most superyachts/vessels traverse the Mediterranean Sea during the Summer months, the odds on encountering migrant vessels are remarkably high.
The objective of the course is to ensure the safety of all concerned—both migrants and crew. Simple errors can cost lives when faced with this predicament.
The knowledge of what to do and the steps to take will give crew members the confidence to handle the situation confidently.
