She played an instrumental role in establishing multiple start-up companies across Europe, showcasing her exceptional operational prowess and strategic acumen.

In her endeavours within the maritime security industry, Karen’s operational excellence truly shone as she contributed significantly to a globally recognised industry leader. Handling complex operational directions and decision-making with the utmost professionalism, she demonstrated her proficiency in working through the intricacies of policy, legal compliance, financial oversight, personnel management, and fostering relationships with individuals of a myriad of nationalities. Throughout her tenure at Maritime Asset Security and Training (M.A.S.T Malta Ltd), Karen achieved prestigious accreditations from renowned institutions such as the Maritime Coastguard Agency, City and Guilds, Edexcel, and ELCAS. Complementing her impressive credentials, Karen holds a bachelor’s degree, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, BS7858 Security Screening certification, and a D34 Award for assessing and verification.

Under her guidance Karen has taken 4am Training to become an Approved Recognised Security Organisation (RSO) to Maltese Port Facilities. With our extensive knowledge in security and counter-terrorism matters, 4am training has been acknowledged by the Flag state and granted authority to perform essential assessment, verification, approval, and certification activities mandated by SOLAS Chapter XI-2  Part A of the ISPS Code.
