Recognised Security organisation
A recognised security organisation can work on vessels or in port facilities or with both.
An RSO is responsible for conducting a full security risk assessment which involves every area of the ship/port.
Identifying vulnerable and weak areas in the outer, the inner and the interior security.
A knowledge of security equipment and what it is capable of and its weaknesses.
Company security policies and procedures must be noted and the SOPs for security personnel.
Annual security audits should be conducted and weaknesses identified immediately.
A strong knowledge of security and SOLAS and the ISPS code is required
An RSO will assist in the writing of the Port Facility Security Plans and can assist with drills and exercises and the writing of Emergency Response Plans.
This course will give an insight into what is expected of an RSO, the essential knowledge they need and the tasks they are required to undertake.
